Ducati 750 Sport (1974-78)

The Ducati 750 Sport motorcycle was produced from 1974 to 1978 and featured a four-stroke, 90 degree L twin-cylinder, SOHC engine with 2 valves per cylinder and a bevel gear-driven capacity of 748cc. The bike had a compression ratio of 9.3:1, and 2 Dell’Orto PHF 32A carburetors for induction, and was cooled by air. The engine was capable of producing a maximum power of 45.6 kW / 62 hp at 8200 rpm. The ignition system utilized points and coil, and the battery was a Yuasa 12N-12A-4A-12V. The bike was started with a kick.

The Ducati 750 Sport featured a wet, multi-plate clutch and a 5-speed transmission with a primary drive ratio of 2.187:1 (32/70), and gear ratios of 1st 2.237 / 2nd 1.562 / 3rd 1.203 / 4th 1.000 / 5th 0.887:1. The final drive ratio was 2.250:1 (16/36), and the final drive was a chain. The motorcycle had a tubular steel, twin downtube frame and was equipped with a Ceriani telescopic fork front suspension and a dual-shock Marzocchi 305 mm, 3-way adjustable rear suspension. The front brake was a single 275 mm disc with a Lockheed caliper, and the rear brake was a 200 mm drum.
