Ducati 749 (2005)

The Ducati 749 motorcycle was manufactured in 2005, and is powered by a four stroke, 90 degree L twin cylinder engine that offers excellent performance. It has a capacity of 748.4 cc, with a bore x stroke of 90 x 58.8 mm, with a compression ratio of 11.7:1. Its lubrication system is wet sump and runs on synthetic oil of 10W/40.

The motorcycle’s exhaust system consists of a single steel muffler with a catalytic converter that aids in reducing emissions. Its ignition system is digital CDI and the engine oil plugs are Champion RA6HC and NGK CR9VX. It comes with electric starting and has a maximum power output of 79.4 kW at 10000 rpm and maximum torque of 80.4 Nm at 8500 rpm. The clutch is a dry multiplate with hydraulic control and the transmission is six-speed.

The model has a unique design with a tubular ALS450 steel trellis frame and Showa 43mm fully-adjustable upside-down fork with TiN. Its front brakes consist of 2 x 320mm Disc, 4 piston calipers, while the rear consists of a single 245 mm disc, 2 piston caliper. It has a new Y-shaped 5 spoke design for both front and rear wheels, with the front wheel being 3.50 x 17 and the rear wheel being 5.50 x 17.

The dimensions of the motorcycle are 2095 mm in length, 730 mm in width, and 1090 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1420 mm and a dry weight of 188 kg. The motorcycle has a fuel capacity of 15.5 liters and a consumption average of 5.6 L/100 km. Its braking capabilities are 12.0 m (39.4 ft) for a speed of 60 km/h and 37.5 m (123.0 ft) for a speed of 100 km/h.

The 749 model has an excellent top speed of 240 km/h along with a standing 1/4 mile time of 11.2 seconds, with a maximum speed of 203 km/h (126 mph). It also features a comprehensive instrumentation system consisting of a speedometer, rev counter, high beam indicator, turn signals, oil pressure warning light, low fuel warning light, neutral light, water temperature, and immobilizer.
