Ducati 450 Jupiter Scrambler (1969-70)

The Ducati 450 Jupiter Scrambler was manufactured from 1969 to 1970 and was equipped with a four-stroke, single cylinder, SOHC engine which had a capacity of 435.7cc. It had a compression ratio of 9.3:1 and was cooled by air. The bike used a Dell’Orto VHB 29 AD induction system, and power was delivered through a wet, multi-plate clutch system which was mated to a five-speed transmission. The bike’s primary drive ratio was 2.111:1, while its final drive ratio was 2.917:1. The suspension consisted of a 35mm Marzocchi telescopic fork at the front and a swingarm with dual Marzocchi shocks at the rear, adjustable in three ways. The bike was equipped with drum brakes, with the front brake having 180mm and the rear brake having 160mm in diameter. It had a wheelbase of 1380mm, a dry weight of 133kg and a fuel capacity of 13 liters. The bike’s dimensions were 2120mm in length, 940mm in width, and 1150mm in height. The Ducati 450 Jupiter Scrambler was capable of producing 16.9 kW / 23 hp @ 6500 rpm. The bike’s final drive was via a chain and its tires were manufactured by Pirelli, with the front tire having a size of 3.50 x 19, and the rear tire having a size of 4.00 x 18.
