The Ducati 250 Scrambler was a popular motorcycle model produced between 1967 and 1975. It featured a four-stroke, single-cylinder, Desmo SOHC engine with a capacity of 248.6 cc and a compression ratio of 9.2:1. The bike had a kick-start and a clutch system of wet, multiplate design. It used a chain final drive with a ratio of 3.000:1, and a tubular steel frame provided the foundation. The front suspension consisted of a Marzocchi hydraulic telescopic fork, while a swingarm with Marzocchi dual shocks supported the rear. Both front and rear brakes were drum models with 180mm and 160mm diameters, respectively. The bike had a length of 2120 mm, a width of 940 mm, and a height of 1150 mm. It also featured a wheelbase of 1380 mm and a dry weight of 132 kg. Its fuel capacity was 11 litres. The bike was produced with different carburettors during different years of production: the Dell’Orto SS1 27D in the 1967-1969 models, the Dell’Orto VHB26BD in 1970-1972 models, and the Amal 27 mm in 1973-1975 models. The bike’s maximum power was 14.1 kW or 19 hp generated at 7500 rpm. The model’s front tyre measured 3.50-19 and the rear tyre 4.00-18, both made by Pirelli.
