Ducati 175TS Turismo Speciale (1958-61)

The Ducati 175TS Turismo Speciale was a motorcycle produced from 1958-61. It had a four stroke, single cylinder, SOHC engine with shaft and bevel gear driven, and 2 valves per cylinder. The capacity was 174.5 cc with a Bore x Stroke of 62 x 57.8 mm and a compression ratio of 7:1. It had an air cooled cooling system and Dell’Orto MB22B carburetor induction, with an ignition system of 6V 40W generator, points and coil, and Marelli CW225A spark plugs. The battery was a SAFA 3L3, 13.5Ah and it had a kick start. The maximum power of the motorcycle was 8.2 kW / 11 hp @ 7500 rpm. The clutch was a multi wet plate, wet and the transmission was 4 speed. The final drive was via chain and the gear ratios were as follows: 1st 2.75 / 2nd 1.65 / 3rd 1.18 / 4th 0.97:1 Final Drive: 3.066:1. The frame was a single cradle tubular frame and the front suspension was a hydraulic telescopic fork by Ducati. The rear suspension was a swingarm dual shocks system which was 3-way adjustable. The front and rear brakes were both drum, full aluminium with sizes of 158 mm and 136 mm, respectively. The diameter of the front and rear tires were 2.50 -18 and 2.75 -18. The motorcycle had a length of 1980 mm / 78.0 in, a width of 680 mm / 26.8 in, and a height of 1040 mm / 40.9 in, as well as a wheelbase of 1310 mm / 51.6 in and a seat height of 750 mm / 29.5 in. The dry weight of the motorcycle was 98.5 kg / 108 lbs and the fuel capacity was 17 L / 4.5 US gal / 3.7 Imp gal. It had a top speed of 118 km/h / 73 mph.
