The Ducati 125 Sport was a motorcycle produced between 1961 and 1964. It had a four-stroke, single-cylinder, bevel gear-driven OHC engine with a capacity of 124.4 cc. It had a compression ratio of 8.0:1 and was cooled by air. Lubrication was provided by a forced oil sump, and the induction came via a Dell’Orto carburetor. Ignition was battery and coil, using a 6V 40W generator with a Marelli CW260N spark plug and a SAFA 3L3 13.5 Ah battery. The bike had a kick start, four-speed transmission, wet, multi-plate clutch, and chain final drive. The maximum power of the Ducati 125 Sport was 7.5 kW / 10 hp at 8500 rpm.
The bike’s frame was a single tubular downpipe cradle, and the suspension was hydraulically damped telescopic forks by Marzocci at the front and a swingarm with dual shocks, three-way adjustable at the rear. The front and rear brakes were drum brakes. The front tyre had a size of 2.50-17 CEAT, and the rear tyre was 2.75-17 CEAT. The Ducati 125 Sport’s dimensions were length: 1910 mm / 72.2 in, width: 580 mm / 22.8 in, height: 920 mm / 36.2 in, and wheelbase: 1320 mm / 52.0 in, with a dry weight of 100.5 kg / 221 lbs.
