Ducati 1098 R Bayliss Limited Edition (2009)

The Ducati 1098 R Bayliss Limited Edition motorcycle was produced in 2009, with only 500 units made. The bike features a four-stroke, 90-degree L twin-cylinder, DOHC, desmodromic four valves per cylinder engine with a capacity of 1198cc/73.1 cu in. Its compression ratio is 12.8:1 with lubrication from a wet sump and a synthetic, 20W-50 engine oil. The Marelli electronic fuel injection system is fed by elliptical throttle bodies, and the system has a lightweight 2-1-2 exhaust with a catalytic converter and twin stainless steel mufflers. With a digital CDI ignition, the bike has a maximum power output of 132.4 kW/180 hp at 9750 rpm and maximum torque of 134 Nm/13.7 kgf-m/98.8 lb-ft at 7750 rpm. The bike is equipped with a dry multiplate clutch with hydraulic control slipper clutch and six-speed transmission. The 1098 R Bayliss Limited Edition uses a tubular steel Trellis frame in ALS 450 with front and rear suspension fully adjustable from ~Ahlins. The bike rides on “GP Replica” 7-spoke forged light alloy wheels and has 2 x 330 mm front and a single 245 mm rear brake, both with a piston caliper. There are several features on the bike’s digital MotoGP-derived instrument panel that show the speedometer, rev counter, time, lap times, air and coolant temperature, voltage, and maintenance scheduling. The bike is dry-weighted at 169 kg/373 lbs., has a top speed of 290 km/h/180 mph, and a fuel capacity of 15.5 L/4.1 US gal/3.4 Imp gal.
