The BSA/Triumph Rocket III motorcycle was produced between 1968 and 1975, with a total of 27,480 units made. It featured a four-stroke, transverse, inline triple engine with a capacity of 740cc and a compression ratio of 9.5:1. The bike had a dry sump lubrication system, a 12V battery, and a kick start. It could produce a maximum power output of 44 kW or 60 hp at 7250 rpm, and a maximum torque of 61 Nm or 45 ft/lb at 6900 rpm. The transmission was a 4-speed, with final drive via chain.
