The Aprilia Scarabeo 500 motorcycle was produced from 2006 to 2012. It features a four-stroke, single-cylinder, SOHC engine with a capacity of 460 cc and a compression ratio of 10.5:1. The engine is liquid-cooled and lubricated with wet sump, forced circulation using a mechanical pump, and semi-synthetic oil. It has a Keihin carburetor and an NGK CR7EKB spark plug, with electronic ignition and electric starting. At its peak, the engine can produce 29 kW or 39 hp of power at 7500 rpm and 43 Nm or 31.2 lb-ft of torque at 5500 rpm. The clutch is automatic and centrifugal, and the transmission is automatic with continuous variator. The final drive is a belt.
