The Aprilia Blue Marlin 1000 is a prototype motorcycle produced in 2001. It features a four stroke longitudinal 60 degrees V-twin engine with anti-vibration double countershaft and 4 valves per cylinder, with a capacity of 997 cc. The bike has a maximum power of 97 kW or 130 hp at 9500 rpm and max torque of 100 Nm at 7250 rpm. It has a wet multi-plate clutch, 6-speed transmission, and chain final drive. The double perimeter frame is made from chrome/molybdenum tubes. The front suspension is an Ohlins upside-down fork, and the rear suspension is hydraulic with adjustments for rebound, compression, and preload. The front brakes are double 320 mm stainless steel floating discs with Brembo 4-piston calipers, while the rear brakes are a single 220 mm stainless steel disc with a 2-piston caliper. The front and rear tires are 120/70 ZR17 and 180/55 ZR17, respectively, and the seat height is 800 mm or 31.5 in.
