Adler MB 150 (1953-54)

The Adler MB 150 motorcycle was produced in limited quantities- only 2,500 units- from 1953-54. The bike is equipped with a single cylinder, 2 stroke engine with a capacity of 147 cc and a bore x stroke of 59 x 54 mm. It is air-cooled and lubricated with petrol and oil mix in a ratio of 25:1. The bike is started with a kick-start and a 6V battery powers the system. The carburetor is a single Bing carburetor and the exhaust system is a single, steel, chrome design. The Adler MB 150 produces a maximum power of 6.2 kW / 8.4 hp @ 5850 rpm and is fitted with a multi-disc, wet clutch. The 4-speed gearbox is housed in the engine block and has foot gearchange while the final drive is chain-driven and fully enclosed. The bike also boasts a double tubular cradle frame, twin swinging leading link forks with shock absorber front suspension, and telescopic spring with hydraulic shock absorbers rear suspension. Both front and rear brakes are drum brakes with a 180 mm diameter, while the tires are 3.25 x 16 inches. All in all, the Adler MB 150 is an interesting vintage motorcycle with a unique range of features.
