The Zero FX is a 2016 electric motorcycle with a passively air-cooled, high efficiency, radial flux permanent magnet, brushless motor called Type Z-Force (R) 75-5. It has a 420 amp, 3-phase brushless controller with regenerative deceleration and a Z-Force Li-Ion intelligent modular power pack with a maximum capacity of either 3.3 kWh or 6.5 kWh. The estimated pack life is up to 327,000 km or 203,000 miles. The charger is integrated and has a maximum power output of 650W. The charge time ranges from 1.5 hours to 8.9 hours depending on the model and charging accessories. The city range is either 66 km or 132 km, and the maximum combined range is between 39-50 km or 79-100 km. The motorcycle has a clutchless direct drive transmission, a Showa front suspension and rear suspension with adjustable preload, compression and rebound damping, Bosch Gen 9 ABS brakes and Pirelli Scorpion MT 90 A/T tires. The curb weight of the bike ranges from 112 kg to 131 kg and it has a carrying capacity of either 174 kg or 155 kg. The acceleration ranges from 4.0 seconds to 4.3 seconds for 0-100 km/h or 60 mph, and the top speed is either 85 mph or 70 mph sustained.
