Zero DS Duel Sport (2012)

The Zero DS Duel Sport (2012) motorcycle is designed with a highly efficient, double-stator axial flux permanent magnet brushless motor, with an integrated forced air cooling mechanism. Its power system is patented, using a Z-Force c Li-Ion intelligent power pack. The maximum capacity is 9.0kWh, with a nominal capacity of 7.9kWh, and its estimated pack life when used for city driving is 302,000 miles (487,000 km). The motorcycle can be charged using a 1kW charger, taking 9 hours for a full charge or 8 hours for 95% charge capacity, but there are accessories that can shorten charging times. The city range is EPA UDDS (Urban Dynamometer Driving Schedule) tested to reach up to 112 miles (180 km), and on the highway, at speeds up to 70mph, it can reach up to 62 miles (100 km). The aircraft grade aluminum twin spar frame combined with the 38mm inverted forks with adjustable compression and rebound damping in the front, and the direct-link shock with adjustable spring preload, compression, and rebound damping in the rear suspension, provide a comfortable and smooth ride. The clutchless one-speed transmission and 132T / 28T Poly Chain (R) GT (R) Carbon c belt also provide a smooth, low-maintenance driving experience. It has front and rear brakes, with a carrying capacity of 154 kg / 340 lbs, and a top speed of 80 mph (sustained) or 70 mph.
