Yamaha YZF (2013)

The Yamaha YZF 1000 R1 Race-Blu Special Edition was released in 2013 and features a liquid-cooled, four-stroke transverse four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 998cc. It has a compression ratio of 12.8:1 and uses synthetic, 10W/40 engine oil with wet sump lubrication. The bike has Mikuni 45mm throttle body FI and TCI (Transistor Controlled Ignition) with NGK CR9EK spark plugs. It has a maximum power output of 133.9 kW or 182 hp at 12,500 rpm and 115.5 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm. Transmission is via a six-speed gearbox with a cable-operated multiplate wet slipper clutch and “O” ring chain final drive. The Deltabox V aluminium frame and 43mm inverted telescopic fork with adjustable preload, compression damping, and rebound damping make for a smooth ride. The rear suspension uses a single shock with a piggyback reservoir, adjustable for hi-/lo-speed compression damping, rebound damping, and spring preload. The front brakes have 2x 310mm discs with six-piston calipers, while the rear brake has a single 220mm disc with one-piston caliper. The bike has a wheelbase of 1,415mm and a ground clearance of 135mm. It weighs 177kg dry and 206kg wet and has a fuel capacity of 18 litres. With a top speed of 280.9 km/h and a standing 1/4 mile time of 10.5 seconds, the Yamaha YZF is a powerful and capable motorcycle.
