Yamaha XV750 (1981-84)

The Yamaha XV750 Special motorcycle was made from 1981 to 1984 with a four-stroke, 75-degree V-twin cylinder, SOHC engine. It had a capacity of 748cc with a bore x stroke of 83 x 69.2 mm and air-cooling. The compression ratio was 8.7:1, with 2 valve per cylinder and 2 x 40mm Hitachi carburetors for its induction. The ignition was CDI and electric starting was used. The maximum power it generated was 50.8 hp / 37.8 kW @ 7000 RPM, with a maximum torque of 5.4 kgf-m / 64.7 Nm @ 5750 RPM. The clutch was wet, multi-plate with a 5-speed transmission and shaft drive. It had a dry weight of 213 kg / 469.5 lbs and wet weight of 227 kg / 500.4 lbs. The fuel capacity of the motorcycle was 12 litres / 3.2 US gal with an average consumption of 53 mpg. The braking distance from 60–0/100-0 was not given, but the standing 1/4 mile was achieved at 13.6 sec / 95.7 mph 154 km/h, while its top speed was 111 mph 178.6 km/h.
