Yamaha xs400 (1976-77)

The Yamaha XS 360 was a motorcycle model produced in 1976-77 with a four-stroke, parallel twin cylinder engine, 180-degree crankshaft, SOHC, and two valves per cylinder. It had a capacity of 359 cc and a compression ratio of 8.7:1. The bike had Mikuni 34mm CV-carburetors for induction and battery and contact breaker points for ignition. Riders could start the bike either with an electric starter or a kick starter. The motorcycle had a maximum power of 34 hp at 8500rpm and a max torque of 3.0 kg/m / 21.6 lb-ft @ 7500rpm. It had a 6-speed transmission and a chain drive system. The front suspension was a telescopic fork, and the rear suspension was a swingarm with dual shocks that had adjustable spring preload. The bike’s front and rear brakes were single 267mm discs with 1 piston calipers. The Yamaha XS 360 weighed 159 kg / 350.5 lbs dry and 176 kg / 388 lbs wet with an 11 Litre / 2.9 US gal fuel capacity. The consumption average was 60 mpg, and its standing 1/4 mile was 14.3 sec. The top speed was 169 km/h / 105 mph. The Yamaha XS 360 was tested on Motorcyclist magazine in 1976.
