Yamaha V MAX (1995-98)

The Yamaha V-Max motorcycle was produced from 1995 to 1998, featuring a four-stroke, V-four, DOHC, 4 valve per cylinder engine with a capacity of 1198 cc (73.1 cu-in), generating a maximum power of 102 hp (74.4 kW) at 8000 rpm and a maximum torque of 114.7 Nm (86.4 lb-ft) at 6000 rpm. The engine is equipped with a 4x 35 mm Mikuni BDS35 carburetor and has a compression ratio of 10.5:1. The bike has a wet, multi-disc clutch and a 5-speed transmission with a shaft final drive.

The frame of the V-Max is a double cradle steel tube, and the bike features 40mm Kayaba forks with air pressure for the front suspension and dual Kayaba shocks with adjustable preload damping for the rear suspension. The front brakes consist of 2x 298mm discs with 2 piston calipers and a single 282 mm disc with a 2 piston caliper for the rear brakes. The front and rear tires have dimensions of 110/90-18 and 150/90-15 respectively.

The V-Max has a top speed of 216.7 km/h and can go from 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds. It has a fuel capacity of 15 liters and an average fuel consumption of 13.1 km/lit. The bike has a seat height of 765 mm and a ground clearance of 145 mm, with a dry weight of 262 kg. The braking distances for 60-0 and 100-0 are 13.2 m and 39.0 m respectively, and it can complete a standing 1/4 mile in 11.7 seconds at a speed of 185.8 km/h.
