Yamaha RD250 (1972)

The Yamaha RD250 motorcycle was produced in 1972 and features a two-stroke, torque induction, parallel twin engine with a capacity of 247 cc. It has a compression ratio of 6.7:1 and is cooled by air. The autolube lubrication system is combined with a dual Mikuni VM28 SC carburetor induction system. The ignition system is battery and coil with breaker points and the starting system is kick. It has a maximum power output of 30 horsepower at 7500rpm and a maximum torque of 21lb-ft at 7000rpm. The clutch is wet multi-plate and the transmission is six-speed. The final drive is a chain and the gear ratio varies between 1st and 6th gear. The front suspension is telescopic forks, while the rear suspension is dual shocks. The braking system consists of drum brakes on both the front and rear of the motorcycle. The tyres are 3.00S-18-4PR and 3.50S-18-4PR for the front and rear, respectively. It has a length of 2030mm, width of 830mm, height of 1085mm, wheelbase of 1325mm, and a ground clearance of 150mm. The dry weight is 152kg and the fuel capacity is 16.5 litres.
