Yamaha RD200 (1976)

The Yamaha RD200 motorcycle was first introduced in 1976 and had a two-stroke torque induction parallel twin engine with a 195cc capacity. The bike had a compression ratio of 7.1:1 and was air-cooled. Autolube was used for lubrication and the oil capacity was 1.2 liters. The RD200 had 2x Y20P carburetors for induction and battery coil ignition. The bike had both electric and kick starting options. The maximum power output was 20 hp / 14.7 kW at 8000 rpm and the maximum torque was 1.9 kgf-m / 8.6 Nm at 7000 rpm. The clutch was a wet multi-plate and the transmission had 5 speeds. The final drive was a chain. The front suspension was telescopic forks and the rear suspension was dual shocks. The front brakes were a single 245 mm disc and the rear brakes were a drum. The dimensions of the Yamaha RD200 were: length 1945 mm / 76.5 in, width 755 mm / 29.7 in, height 980 mm / 38.5 in, wheelbase 1240 mm / 48.8 in, seat height 780 mm / 30.7 in, ground clearance 155 mm / 6.1 in, and wet weight 140.0 kg / 308.6 lbs. The fuel capacity was 11.5 liters / 3.0 US gal.
