The Vespa PX 125 T5 and PX 125 T5 Elestart motorcycles were produced between 1985 and 1999. They had a two-stroke, single cylinder engine with a capacity of 123.4 cc and a compression ratio of 11.3:1. The carburetor used was a Dell’Orto SI 24/24G and the fuel mixture was 1:20. The ignition system was a flywheel alternator, with a built-in H.T. coil and the motorcycles used a kick start to get going. The clutch was multiplate and the transmission was a four-speed, grip-shift, constant mesh system with a final direct drive. The motorcycles had a pressed sheet steel, streamlined monocoque frame, with helical spring and double-acting hydraulic dampers for the front and rear suspensions. The braking system was cable-operated, 125 mm expanding drum brakes in the front and rear. The wheels were interchangeable and had 3.5 x 10″ tires. The Vespa PX 125 T5 had a top speed of 106 km/h and could go 0 to 400 m in 20.2 seconds. The motorcycle came in red and white and had a fuel capacity of 8 L, with an average consumption of 2.7 L/100km.
