The Velocette Viper Scrambler was a motorcycle manufactured from 1958-68. It had a four-stroke single cylinder engine with a capacity of 349cc and a compression ratio of 9.3:1. The bike featured a dry sump lubrication system, an Amal TT monobloc carburetor, and a single, megaphone silencer exhaust. The ignition was powered by a BTH racing magneto and the bike was started with a kick start. The Viper Scrambler was capable of reaching a maximum power of 26 kW / 29 hp @ 7000 rpm. The bike had a dry, three-plate clutch and a 4-speed constant mesh, close ratio, foot-controlled transmission. The final drive was a chain. The bike had dimensions of 2260 mm in length, 890 mm in width, and 1090 mm in height. The Viper Scrambler had a wheelbase of 1365 mm, ground clearance of 165 mm, and a seat height of 838 mm. The suspension on the bike consisted of a telescopic fork with hydraulic compression and rebound damping in the front and Woodhead-Monroe springs with hydraulic damping in the back. The front and rear wheels were 7 x 1 inches in size with light alloy rims and spokes. The front and rear tires measured 3.00 x 21 inches and 4.00 x 19 inches respectively. The bike had a turning radius of 4.9 m and a rake of 27 degrees. Its wet weight was 152 kg and it had a fuel capacity of 11 L. The Velocette Viper Scrambler was available in black/chrome, red/black, and white/black colors.
