Velocette Viper Clubman (1960-68)

The Velocette Viper Clubman is a four-stroke, single-cylinder, OHC motorcycle with a capacity of 349 cc and a compression ratio of 9.3:1. It is air-cooled and has a wet sump lubrication system with an Amal TT Monobloc carburetor and a single megaphone silencer exhaust. It has a Miller type D6 ignition with auto volt regulations and a 6V, 60W battery with kick start. The Viper Clubman has a maximum power of 25 kW or 28 hp at 7000 rpm and a clutch that is dry with three plates. It has a 4-speed constant mesh close ratio transmission and a final drive chain with gear ratios of 1st 10.45, 2nd 7.94, 3rd 6.03 and 4th 5.5:1. The front and rear brakes are drum brakes with light alloy rims and spokes of WM2 x 19 for both front and rear wheels. The tyres are 3.25 x 19 in, ribbed for front and studded for the rear. The fuel capacity is 19.3 L or 5.1 US gal with a dry weight of 181 kg or 399 lbs. The Viper Clubman came in three colours: black/chrome, red/black and white/black.
