The Velocette MSS was a motorcycle produced from 1935 to 1968. It had a four-stroke, single cylinder engine with a capacity of 499 cc and a compression ratio of 6.75:1. The carburetor was an Amal Monobloc and the ignition was magnetor, Lucas system. It had a maximum power of 19.9 kW/27 hp at 5000 rpm and a top speed of 130 km/h/80 mph. The transmission was four-speed and it had a chain final drive. The dimensions were length: 2130 mm/84.0 in, width: 700 mm/27.5 in, and height: 990 mm/39.0 in. It had a telescopic fork with 2-way hydraulic damping front suspension and Woodhead-Monroe springs with hydraulic damping rear suspension. The brakes were drums on both the front and rear.
