Velocette KSS and KTT (KSSMkI:  1925-35KSSMkII: 1935-48KTTMkI:   1929-31KTTMkII:  1930-31KTTMkIII: 1931-34KTTMkIV:1932-34KTTMkV  1935-36)

The Velocette KSS and KTT motorcycles were produced in various models from 1925 to 1948. They had a four-stroke, single cylinder, OHC engine with a 348.4 cc capacity and a bore x stroke of 74 x 81 mm. The compression ratio was between 7.0:1 and 7.75:1 depending on the model. They were air cooled and lubricated by dry sump. The carburetor was an Amal with the option for lever control. The ignition system was bobine and starting was by kick start. The maximum power output was 14 kW / 19 hp on the KTT Mk I model. The clutch was a wet multi-plate and transmission had 3 speeds for the KSS models and 3 or 4 speeds for the KTT models. The final drive was by chain. The frame was either an open frame with load bearing motor or a single cradle frame, depending on the model. The wheelbase was 1365 mm / 53.75 in, seat height was 711 mm / 28 in, and ground clearance was 108 mm / 4.25 in. Front suspension was by Webb fork with spring loaded adjustable dampers and rear suspension was a spring-loaded seat. Both front and rear brakes were 7 in. internal expanding drums. Fuel capacity was 8.5 L / 2.25 US gal and dry weight was 120 kg / 265 lbs. The KTT Mk I model had a maximum speed of 145 km/h / 90 mph. The motorcycles came in black with gold pin striping.
