Triumph Tiger 80 (1937-40)

The Triumph Tiger 80 motorcycle was produced from 1937 to 1940. It had a single cylinder, single port OHV engine with automatic lubrication to rockers and valve guides. The capacity of the engine was 349 cc or 21.3 cu in with a bore x stroke of 70 x 89 mm and a compression ratio of 7.5:1. The cooling system was air-cooled and it had a one-into-one exhaust. The motorcycle was kick-started and had a maximum power of 14.9 kW or 20 hp at 5700 rpm. The frame was a single cradle, steel type and it had a 4-speed transmission with a chain final drive. The front suspension was rigid with dual springs and the rear suspension was rigid with a spring-loaded saddle. Both the front and rear brakes were drum and the front and rear wheels were Dunlop ribbed with sizes of 3.00 x 26” and 3.25 x 26”, respectively. The wheelbase of the motorcycle was 1400 mm or 55 in.
