The Triumph T120R Bonneville 650 was a four-stroke, parallel twin, OHV motorcycle with a capacity of 649 cc/39.6 cu in, produced in 1969. It had a compression ratio of 8.5:1 and was air-cooled, with 2x Amal 1-1/6″ carburetors and Lucas MA6 alternator with 2 coils ignition. The motorcycle had a kick start and could produce a maximum power of 34 kW/46 hp at 6500 rpm. Its wet, multiplate clutch was coupled with a 4-speed, constant mesh transmission and it had a chain, 106 links final drive. The frame was a single front downtube with a second bracing member running under the tank, while the steering angle was 65o. The front suspension used telescopic forks with hydraulic damping, while the rear suspension used a swingarm with twin Girling dampers. It had an 8″ SLS drum front brake and a 7″ SLS drum rear brake, with a 3.25 x 19 Dunlop Universal front tyre and a 4.00 x 18 Dunlop Universal rear tyre. The dimensions of the motorcycle were length 2020 mm/85.5 in, width 720 mm/28.5 in, wheelbase 1403 mm/55.2 in, seat height 775 mm/30.5 in, ground clearance 127 mm/5.0 in, and dry weight 165 kg/363 lbs. The US version had a fuel capacity of 13.6 liters/3.6 US gal while the export version had a fuel capacity of 18 liters/4.8 US gal.
