Suzuki TS125 (1981-83)

The Suzuki TS125 was a two-stroke, single cylinder motorcycle produced between 1981 and 1983. It had a 123cc capacity engine with a bore x stroke of 56 x 50mm and a compression ratio of 6.6:1. The cooling system was air-cooled, and it had a CCI automatic lube lubrication system. Its Mikuni VM24SH carburetor provided fuel, while a Suzuki PEI ignition system began operations through a kick-start. A 6V, 4Ah battery and NGK B8ES or Nippon Denso W24ES spark plugs complemented its starting mechanism. It generated a maximum power of 10.4kW / 14 hp @ 7000 rpm and a maximum torque of 14.7 Nm / 1.5 kgf-m / 10.8 lb-ft @ 6000 rpm. The Suzuki TS125’s clutch was a wet, multi-plate type with a six-speed transmission system and a primary reduction of 3.562 (57/16). The rear drive was by chain, DAIDO #428D, 116 links, and had a final reduction of 3.066 (46/15). Its front suspension came with a telescopic fork and oil damping, while the rear suspension had swingarms, twin shocks, five adjustment positions, and oil damping. Its ground clearance was 250mm / 9.8 inches with a steering angle of 40o, and it weighed 97kg / 214 lbs when dried and 106kg / 234 lbs when wet. The fuel tank capacity was 7 litres / 1.8 US gal / 15 Imp gal, while its fuel reserve was 1.5 litres / 1.6 US qt / 1.3 Imp qt. The Suzuki had a 34o climbing ability, and its caster and trail were 60o and 147 mm / 5.79 in, respectively. The front and rear brakes were drum, internal expanding types, and the sizes of its front and rear tyres were 2.75-21 4PR and 4.10-18 4PR, respectively. Its dimensions measured 2020mm (Length) x 800mm (Width) x 1135mm (Height) with a wheelbase of 1350 mm/53.1 in. Its dry and wet weights, combined with its dimensions, made it a manageable and versatile bike for transport purposes.
