Suzuki RF400R (1997-98)

The Suzuki RF 400R was a motorcycle produced from 1997-98 with a four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder, DOHC engine with 4 valves per cylinder and a capacity of 398cc/24.3 cu in. Its liquid-cooled system and Mikuni 32mm carburetors were complemented by an electric starting system. The bike boasted a maximum power of 42.3 kW/58 hp @ 11000 rpm and a maximum torque of 38 Nm/3.87kgf-m/28 lb-ft @ 9500 rpm. Its six-speed transmission and chain final drive allowed for smooth and controlled travel. The frame of hollow steel perimeter and front suspension of 41mm telescopic forks with preload adjustability made for comfortable, secure riding, complemented by the link-type single shock rear suspension with rebound and preload adjustability. The brakes included 2 discs with a 4-piston caliper in the front and a single disc with a 2-piston caliper in the rear. The tire dimensions were 120/70-17 in the front and 160/60-17 in the rear. Its dimensions were 2116 mm/83.3 in in length, 719 mm/28.3 in in width, a 1430 mm/56.3 in wheelbase, and a seat height of 775 mm/30.5 in with a dry weight of 186 kg/410 lbs. The fuel capacity of the Suzuki RF 400R was 17 Litres/4.5 US gal/3.7 Imp gal providing long distance riding capabilities.
