Suzuki GV700GL (1984-85)

The Suzuki GV700GL Madura was a motorcycle produced in 1984-85 with a four-stroke, 82 degree V-Four engine, DOHC, and four valves per cylinder. It had a capacity of 698cc and a bore x stroke of 69 x 46.7 mm with a compression ratio of 10.5:1. Cooling was liquid, and it had four 33 mm Mikuni carburetors and transistorized ignition. The bike produced a maximum power of 52.6 kW or 72 hp. Its clutch was wet and multi-plate, transmission was six-speed, and final drive was by shaft. The double downtube full cradle frame had a 29.5-degree rake and 117 mm trail. The front suspension was made up of 39 mm air-assisted telescopic forks with a wheel travel of 160mm while the rear suspension had single shock spring oil-damped shocks with 5-way adjustable preload. The front brakes comprised of two 280mm discs, while the rear brake was a drum. The dimensions were: length 2225mm, width 880mm, and height 1205mm, with a wheelbase of 1575mm. The dry weight was 228 kg, the wet weight was 253 kg, and the fuel capacity was 13 litres or 3.4 US gallons or 2.9 Imperial gallons. Its standing 1/4 mile was recorded as 13.47 seconds, with a speed of 159 km/h or 98.7 mph.
