The Suzuki GT550K motorcycle was manufactured in 1974-75 and featured a two-stroke, transverse three-cylinder engine with a capacity of 543cc. It had a compression ratio of 6.8:1 and was equipped with 3x28mm Mikuni carburetors and battery/coil with contact breakers ignition. The bike had both electric and kick starting options and produced a maximum power of 40 kW / 53 hp at 7500 rpm and a maximum torque of 53 Nm / 5.4 kgf-m / 38.8 ft-lb at 6000 rpm. The frame was constructed from welded mild steel tubing and featured a 5-speed, constant mesh transmission and a chain, endless 530 final drive. The front suspension consisted of a telehydraulic fork while the rear suspension featured dual shocks swinging fork with preload adjustable. It was fitted with drum brakes, both front and rear, and had tyres sized 3.25-19 in the front and 4.00-18 in the rear. The motorcycle measured 2195 mm in length, 815 mm in width and 1160 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1465 mm and ground clearance of 145 mm. It had a dry weight of 200 kg and a fuel capacity of 12.5 litres.
