The Suzuki GSX400F Impulse was a motorcycle produced between 1996 and 1998. It featured a four-stroke, in-line four-cylinder engine with DOHC and four valves per cylinder, which had a capacity of 399cc. The bore and stroke measured 52 x 47 mm with a compression ratio of 11.8:1. The cooling system was liquid-cooled, and the induction was done using four 29mm carburetors. The motorcycle started with an electric starter and had a maximum power output of 44 kW (59 hp) at 12,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 37 Nm (27.3 lb-ft) at 10,500 rpm. The engine was mated to a six-speed transmission with chain final drive. The front suspension comprised telescopic forks, while the rear suspension was a dual-shock system with adjustable preload. The front brakes were two 290mm discs with two-piston calipers, and the rear brake was a single disc with a one-piston caliper. The front and rear tires measured 110/80-17 and 130/80-17, respectively. The motorcycle’s dimensions were 2065mm (81.3in) length, 740mm (29.1in) width, 1110mm (43.7in) height, 1435mm (56.5in) wheelbase, and 760mm (29.9in) seat height. Its dry weight was 153 kg (337 lbs), and it had a fuel capacity of 18 litres (4.8 US gallons or 4.0 Imperial gallons).
