Suzuki GSX1000S Katana (1982-83)

The Suzuki GSX1000S Katana was a motorcycle produced between 1982 and 1983. It had a transverse, four-stroke four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 998cc and a compression ratio of 9.5:1. The bike used a wet sump lubrication system and came with 4 Mikuni VM32SS carburetors. The engine had a maximum power output of 80.5 kW at 8500 rpm and a maximum torque of 91 Nm at 6500 rpm. It featured a five-speed transmission, a wet multi-plate clutch, and a final chain drive. The steel double-cradle frame had telescopic, oil-damped front suspension with spring 4-way adjustable with anti-dive and a dual-shock oil-damped rear suspension with damper 4-way, spring 5-way adjustable. The front and rear brakes had a single and double disc respectively, and the bike had a 3.50 – V19 front tire and a 4.50 – V17 rear tire.
