The Suzuki GSX-R 1000 was a four-stroke motorcycle released in 2009. It had a transverse four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 998.6cc and a compression ratio of 12.8:1. The engine was cooled by liquid and lubricated by a wet sump. The bike featured fuel injection, electronic ignition, and a hydraulically-actuated multiplate wet clutch. It had a maximum power output of 136.1 kW / 182.5 hp at 12,000rpm and a maximum torque of 117 Nm / 11.9 kg fm / 86.3 lb.ft at 10,000rpm. The transmission was a six-speed, constant mesh system that used a chain as its final drive. The bike had an aluminum, twin-spar frame with a rake of 23.9 degrees. Suspension consisted of an inverted telescopic coil spring for the front and a link type coil spring for the rear. The front brakes were two 310mm discs with a four-piston caliper, while the rear had a single 220mm disc. The bike had cast aluminum alloy wheels with a three-spoke design and tubeless tires. The wheelbase measured 1405mm with the bike’s dimensions being 2045mm in length, 720mm in width, and 1130mm in height.
