Suzuki GS400E 11 (1978-84)

The Suzuki GS 400E motorcycle was produced from 1978-1984 and featured a four-stroke, parallel twin-cylinder engine with a capacity of 398cc. The bike had a DOHC configuration with 2 valves per cylinder and was cooled by air. It had a compression ratio of 9:1 and was induced by 2 Mikuni BS34 carburetors.

It could produce a maximum power of 25.4 kW or 34 hp at 8000 rpm and a maximum torque of 30 Nm or 22.1 lb-ft at 7000 rpm. It had a Wet multi-plate type clutch and a 6-speed transmission with a primary drive ratio of 2.714 and a final drive ratio of 2.461. The bike had a double cradle tube frame and a telescopic, coil spring, oil-damped front suspension. The rear suspension was a swing arm, coil spring (5-way adjustable), and oil-damped. The front brakes were a single 270mm disc with a 1-piston caliper, and the rear brakes were a 160mm drum. The front and rear tires were 3.00-18 and 3.50-18 respectively.

The bike had a length of 2085mm, a width of 835mm, and a height of 1125mm, with a wheelbase of 1385mm and a seat height of 790mm. It had a ground clearance of 170mm, a dry weight of 172kg, and a wet weight of 185.0kg. The fuel capacity was 14 liters or 3.7 US gallons.
