Suzuki GS 1100GL (1982-84)

The Suzuki GS 1100GL was a motorcycle model manufactured from 1982 to 1984. It featured a four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder engine with DOHC and 2 valves per cylinder, a capacity of 1074 cc / 65.5 cub. in., and a compression ratio of 8.8:1. The engine was air-cooled and had wet sump lubrication with a trochoidal pump. Induction was achieved through four 34mm Mikuni BS34SS carburetors, while the ignition was transistorized pointless, and the battery was 12V, 14AH. The maximum power of the bike was 92 hp / 68.6 kW at 8000 rpm, and the maximum torque was 86.7 Nm / 8.85 kgf-m / 64 lb-ft at 7000 rpm. The bike had a wet, multi-plate clutch and a 5-speed constant transmission with shaft final drive. The front suspension consisted of telehydraulic forks, and the rear suspension had swinging arm forks with adjustable shock absorbers. The front and rear brakes were 2 x 295mm discs and a single 295 mm disc, respectively. The bike had a length of 2300 mm / 90.6 in, width of 905 mm / 35.6 in, and height of 1260 mm / 49.6 in, with a wheelbase of 1525 mm / 60.0 in and ground clearance of 155 mm / 6.1 in. The wet weight of the bike was 244 kg / 537.9 lbs, and the fuel capacity was 17 Litres / 4.4 US gal / 3.7 Imp gal.
