The NSU 501 OSL and TS were motorcycles produced by the German company NSU between 1930 and 1936. These motorcycles had a reputation for being reliable and well-built, and were popular among riders in Europe and beyond.
The NSU 501 OSL was a single-cylinder bike that featured a 500cc engine and a four-speed gearbox. It had a top speed of around 75 miles per hour and was often used for touring and long-distance rides. The TS model, which was introduced in 1931, was a sportier version of the OSL that had a higher compression ratio and a top speed of around 85 miles per hour.
Both the OSL and TS models had a distinctive telescopic fork suspension system that was ahead of its time. This made the motorcycles more stable and easier to handle than many of their contemporaries.
During World War II, NSU shifted its production focus to military equipment, and the OSL and TS were no longer produced. However, these bikes remain popular among collectors and enthusiasts today, and their innovative design and engineering continue to be admired by motorcycle fans around the world.
