The Norton Commando 850 is a four-stroke, parallel twin-cylinder motorcycle that was manufactured in 1973. The engine has a capacity of 829cc and features push rod 2 valves per cylinder, with a bore x stroke of 77 x 89 mm and a compression ratio of 8.5:1. The Commando 850 is air-cooled and has 2 Amal carburetors for induction, as well as a Lucas alternator for ignition. It starts with a kick and can reach a maximum power of 60 hp / 44.7 kW @ 6200 rpm. The clutch is diaphragm type pressure plate and the transmission is 4-speed, with a final drive of chain. The front suspension is telescopic fork and the rear suspension consists of dual shocks. For braking, the front has a single disc and the rear has a drum. The front and rear tires are both 4.10-19. The bike weighs 188 kg / 414 lbs and has a fuel capacity of 19 Litres / 5.0 US gal.
