Nortom Commando 850 (1975)

The Norton Commando 850 Roadster MKII motorcycle was introduced in 1975 and featured a four-stroke, parallel-twin-cylinder engine with pushrod 2 valves per cylinder. It had a capacity of 829 cc and a compression ratio of 8.5:1. The bike was air-cooled and used 2 Amal carbs for induction. The ignition was powered by a 120W Lucas alternator and it had both electric and kick starting options. The Norton Commando 850 had a maximum power output of 60 hp at 6200 rpm, with a transmission of 4 speeds and a metal diaphragm clutch. The final drive was through a chain. The frame was a twin downtube cradle with Isolastic engine mounts, while the suspension consisted of telescopic forks at the front and a swing arm with Girling coil springs at the rear.
