MV Agusta 98 Turismo (1945-48)

The MV Agusta 98 Turismo was produced from 1945 to 1948, with approximately 1700 units made. It is a two-stroke, single-cylinder motorcycle with a 98 cc capacity and 6.0:1 compression ratio. The engine is cooled by air and is lubricated with an 8% mixture. The flywheel magneto provides ignition, and the kick-start system is used for starting. The maximum power output is 2.6 kW or 3.5 hp at 4500 rpm. A wet multiple plate clutch and 2-speed transmission are standard (with a 3-speed version available from 1946), and the final drive is a chain. The closed tubular steel cradle frame supports the motorcycle, which features girder forks (telescopic fork on Lusso) for the front suspension and a plunger-box rear suspension.
