The Moto Guzzi 1000 Le Mans Mark IV SE was produced from 1986 to 1987. The bike had a four-stroke, 90-degree V-twin alloy engine, which had two valves per cylinder and a pushrod valve system. The engine was air-cooled, and had a displacement of 948cc with a compression ratio of 10.0:1. It produced a maximum power of 81 hp at 7400 rpm and a maximum torque of 76.4 Nm at 6250 rpm. The transmission had five gears, and the final drive was by shaft. The bike had a double cradle frame, telescopic forks, and a dual shock rear suspension with five-way preload and four-way damping. Brakes consisted of twin 270 mm discs at the front and a single 270 mm disc at the rear. The wheels were cast alloy and the tires were 120/80 V16 at the front and 130/18 V18 at the rear. The bike weighed 215 kg dry and 228 kg wet, with a fuel capacity of 25 litres. Its average fuel consumption was 50.3 mpg. The bike had a top speed of 137.1 mph and could complete a quarter-mile run in 12.7 seconds, reaching a speed of 110.5 mph.
