The Maico Enduro 500 was produced from 2001-2014 and had a single cylinder, two-stroke engine with a capacity of 499cc. It had a liquid cooling system, Bing 40 oval fuel system, and 12V 130W SEM ignition with kick starting. The bike had a maximum power of 48.9 kW or 67 hp and a 5-speed transmission with wet, multi-plate clutch and final chain drive. The frame was made of chrom molybd~an rohr and had WP 48 front suspension with 305 mm of travel and MAICO Twin link Reiger shock rear suspension with 320 mm of travel. Brakes were single disc with 260 mm, 2-piston caliper at the front and single disc with 220 mm, 1-piston caliper at the rear. The bike had alloy wheels with wire spokes, 1.6 x 21 inch front rim, and 2.15 x 18 inch rear rim. The front and rear tires were 90/90-21 and 140/80-18 respectively. The bike had a wheelbase of 1480 mm or 58.3 inches, ground clearance of 388 mm or 15.3 inches, and seating height of 960 mm or 37.8 inches. It had a dry weight of 109 kg or 240 lbs and a fuel capacity of 9.5 L or 2.5 US gal. The Maico Enduro 500 received a positive review on twostrokemotocross.com.
