The Maico 250 WR Cross Country motorcycle was released in 1976 and was equipped with a single cylinder, two-stroke engine with a capacity of 247cc. It had a compression ratio of 13.0:1 and a maximum power of 25 kW / 34 hp at 7300 rpm. The bike had a multi-disc, wet clutch and a 5-speed transmission with a final drive chain. The frame was made of chrom molybd-an rohr and had a front suspension with internal springs and HD 315 oil. The front wheel had a travel distance of 191mm / 7.5in while the rear suspension had a swinging arm and Koni shock with adjustable rebound damping and a travel distance of 159mm / 6.25in. The bike had a ground clearance of 241mm / 9.5in and a wet weight of 118kg / 259lbs. The fuel capacity was 11L / 2.9 US gal. The bike was reviewed by Cycle World in February 1976.
