The Laverda 668 Diamante motorcycle was released in 1997 and featured a four-stroke, parallel twin-cylinder engine with a capacity of 668cc. It had a compression ratio of 9.0:1 and was cooled by air and oil. The bike had a maximum power output of 70hp at 8000rpm and max torque of 60Nm at 7000rpm. It was fitted with Twin Weber-Marelli electronic injection and ignition. The bike had a six-speed transmission and chain final drive. The front suspension was made up of 40mm WP upside-down forks while the rear suspension was WP rising rate adjustable preload. The bike had a front brake consisting of 2x 320mm discs 4 piston calipers and a rear brake with a single 245mm disc 2 piston caliper. The Laverda 668 Diamante had a dry weight of 180kg, a fuel capacity of 18 litres or 4.7 US gallons, and was equipped with 120/70 ZR17 front tires and 170/60 ZR17 rear tires.
