The 2008 KTM 690 Duke is a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motorcycle with a 653.7 cc engine capable of producing 65 horsepower and 65 Nm of torque. The bike uses a Keihin EMS with Electric Power Throttle induction and Kokusan DC-CDI ignition, and has a wet sump lubrication system with synthetic 15W-50 oil. It has a six-speed transmission with a hydraulically operated APTC multi-disc wet clutch and chain X-Ring final drive. The frame is made from chromoly trellis and has a powder-coated aluminum subframe. Suspension is provided by WP upside-down forks at the front and a WP monoshock at the rear with Pro-lever deflector. Braking is achieved using a single 320 mm floating disc at the front and a single 240 mm floating disc at the rear, both with single-piston calipers. The bike has a 63.5 degree steering head angle and a 1472 mm wheelbase, with a seat height of 865 mm and a dry weight of 148.5 kg. The fuel tank capacity is 13.5 litres.
