KTM 400 LC4 EGS-E (1997-99)

The KTM 400 LC4 EGS-E was introduced by Austrian manufacturer KTM in 1997 and was produced until 1999. It was a dual-sport motorcycle that combined off-road capabilities with on-road performance.

The bike was powered by a liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine with a displacement of 398cc. The engine was fitted with a Keihin carburetor and had a maximum power output of 45 horsepower.

The 400 LC4 EGS-E was built on a tubular trellis frame that was both lightweight and sturdy. The suspension system consisted of 43mm WP upside-down forks at the front and a WP monoshock at the rear. The bike also had disc brakes on both wheels for effective stopping power.

The dual-sport nature of the 400 LC4 EGS-E was reflected in its tires. It had a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel, both fitted with knobby tires that could handle dirt trails and rocky terrain.

Additional features on the bike included a digital instrument panel, a side stand, and a headlight and taillight for riding in low light conditions.

Overall, the KTM 400 LC4 EGS-E was a versatile and capable dual-sport motorcycle that offered a balance of off-road and on-road performance. Its reliable engine and sturdy frame made it a popular choice for adventure riders and enthusiasts of all skill levels.
