The Kawasaki ZXR250 Ninja was produced from 1995 to 1996 and had a four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 249cc. It had a liquid cooling system and a compression ratio of 12.2:1. The bike featured 4x Keihin CVK D30 carburettors and TCBI ignition. It had a maximum power output of 45hp at 15,000rpm and maximum torque of 2.6kgf-m at 11,500rpm. The bike had a wet, multi-disc, manual, cable-actuated clutch and a 6-speed transmission along with a chain final drive. The frame was a perimeter, pressed aluminium type. The front suspension consisted of telescopic forks with a front wheel travel of 120mm, while the rear suspension was a Uni-track, swing arm type with a rear wheel travel of 113mm. The bike had 2x discs with 2-piston calipers in the front and a single disc with a 1-piston caliper in the rear. The front tyre was a 110/70-R17 54H and the rear tyre was a 140/60-R18 64H. The rake was 24 degrees and the trail was 85 mm. The bike measured 2000mm in length, 685mm in width, and 1090mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1360mm and a seat height of 735mm. Ground clearance was 141mm and the dry weight was 141kg. The fuel capacity was 15 litres.
