Kawasaki ZX (2009)

The Kawasaki ZX-6R Ninja 25th Anniversary motorcycle was released in 2009, featuring a four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder, DOHC engine with a capacity of 599cc and a compression ratio of 13.3:1. The engine is liquid-cooled and features DFI (R) with four 38mm Keihin throttle bodies and two injectors per throttle body. The maximum power is 94.1 kW/128 hp at 14,000 rpm and 98.5 kW/134 hp at 14,000 rpm with ram air. The maximum torque is 66.7 Nm/6.8 kgf-m/49.2 lb-ft at 11,800 rpm.

The clutch is a wet multi-disc, manual system, with a six-speed transmission and sealed chain final drive. The frame is aluminum perimeter with a rake/trail of 24 degrees/4.0 inches. The front suspension features a 41mm inverted Showa Big Piston Front fork with top-out springs, stepless compression and rebound damping, and fully adjustable spring preload. The rear suspension is a Bottom-Link Uni-Trak (R) system with gas-charged shock, top-out spring and pillow ball upper mount, dual-range (high/low-speed) stepless compression damping, fully-adjustable spring preload, and 25-way adjustable rebound damping.

The front brakes are 2 x 300mm discs with 4 piston calipers, while the rear brake is a single 220mm disc with a 1 piston caliper. The tires are 120/70 ZR17 in the front and 180/55 ZR17 in the rear. The wet weight of the bike is 191 kg/421 lb, and it has a fuel capacity of 17 litres/4.5 US gal. The bike has a consumption average of 5.3 L/100 km/18.9 km/l/44.6 US mpg and can reach a top speed of 257.8 km/h/160.2 mph. Its standing 1/4 mile time is 11.1 seconds. The bike’s dimensions are 2090 mm/82.3 in in length, 705 mm/28.0 in in width, and 1115 mm/43.9 in in height, with a wheelbase of 1400 mm/5.1 in, ground clearance of 120 mm/4.72 in, and seat height of 815 mm/32.3 in.
