The Kawasaki Zephyr 400 X motorcycle was produced from 1998 to 2000 with a four stroke parallel twin cylinder engine, a capacity of 399 cc, and a compression ratio of 10.3:1. It was equipped with 4X Keihin CVK30 carburetors and full transistor ignition with electric starting. The bike offered a maximum power of 49 hp at 11000 rpm and max torque of 3.1 kgf m at 10500 rpm. It was also outfitted with a wet multi-disc clutch and a 6-speed transmission with a chain final drive. The front suspension of the Zephyr 400 X was a telescopic fork style and the rear suspension was dual shocks. It featured 2x discs on the front brakes and a single disc on the rear braking system. The bike came with 110/80-17 front tires and 140/70-18 rear tires. Additionally, it had a rake of 27 degrees, trail of 102mm, wheelbase of 1435mm, seat height of 770mm, ground clearance of 120mm, dry weight of 179 kg, and 14L fuel capacity.
