The Kawasaki KR 250, introduced in 1985, was a two-stroke, parallel twin cylinder motorcycle with a liquid-cooled engine and a capacity of 249 cc. The bike had a bore x stroke of 56.0 x 50.6 mm and a compression ratio of 7.4:1, with 2x Keihin PWK 28 induction and capacitor discharge ignition. The KR 250 had a kick-start and was capable of producing 45 hp / 33.5 kW @ 10000 rpm and a maximum torque of 3.7 kgf-m / 26.7 lb-ft @ 8000 rpm. The motorcycle had a 6-speed transmission and a chain final drive, and its front suspension was equipped with air-assisted 35mm forks with 3-way adjustable AVDS anti-dive. The rear suspension was adjustable, with damping and 5-way preload. The bike had front brakes with 2x 260mm discs and 1 piston calipers, and a rear brake with a single 350mm disc and 1 piston calipers. It had a 100/90 VR16 front tyre and a 110/80 VR18 rear tyre, with a rake of 27o and a trail of 84 mm / 3.3 in. The Kawasaki KR 250 had a dry weight of 133 kg / 293 lbs and a fuel capacity of 16 litres / 4.2 US gal. Its standing 1/4 mile was 13.6 sec / 95.5 mph and it had a top speed of 180.2 km/h / 112 mph.
