Kawasaki GPX 750R (1986-87)

The Kawasaki GPX 750R was a motorcycle produced from 1986-87. It had a four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 742 cc, featuring DOHC and four valves per cylinder. The bike was liquid-cooled and had a compression ratio of 11.2:1 with a wet sump lubrication system. The induction consisted of 4x 34mm Keihin CV carburetors and used TCI (Transistor Controlled Ignition) for ignition. It had a maximum power of 106 hp / 74.5 kW @ 10500 rpm and a maximum torque of 77.8 Nm / 57.3 lb-ft @ 8500 rpm with an electric starting system. The GPX 750R also had a wet, multiple disc, cable-operated clutch and a 6-speed transmission. The bike’s frame was made of steel, with a double cradle frame, and its front suspension was 38mm Telehydraulic forks electrically activated anti-dive. The rear suspension was a unit-track air-assisted 4-way rebound damping adjustment. The front brakes consisted of 2x 270mm discs 4 piston calipers, and the rear brakes had a single 230mm disc 2 piston caliper. The GPX 750R had a wheelbase of 1495 mm / 58.6 in, a dry weight of 195 kg / 430 lbs, and a wet weight of 220 kg / 485 lbs. It held 21 litres / 5.5 US gallons of fuel and had an average fuel consumption of 16.2 km/lit. Its braking distance from 60-0 / 100-0 was 14.0 m / 40.5 m, and it took 11.1 seconds to complete the standing 1/4 mile, reaching 193.2 km/h. The GPX 750R had a top speed of 238.7 km/h.
